I disagree and agree. Much of the point really IS to get food on the ground in a spot that needs fresh foods
While this is labor intensive, the labor in question in all of these projects is immature, unskilled and haphazard, yet they are still producing vast quantities of quality products and are also making ends meet.
These people are doing a similar project on a 10th of an acre with only a handful of adults and are also showing a volume of produce that easily shames mono-crop tilled systems; http://urbanhomestead.org/urban-homestead
