Wow. Anyone who wants to understand why our country is so deluded only needs to read the comments here. Keep telling yourself that these tricks don't work on you. Then go out and vote for a lizard.
Works every freakin' time (we always get a lizard).
People do stuff. They have reasons for doing stuff; in that order. Even if you don't have money to buy that stuff, you will be influenced to find the money and buy SOMEthing.
Want to change how much you are influenced­?
Stay home. Make or grow your own stuff. Spend time with other people who do the same.
You get the wolf you feed, as the Native Americans would say.
Buy less, buy local, but mostly less. Your dollar is your vote. Don't vote for the Twinkie and Rumsfeld's Nutrisweet and Roundup (and the terrorist oil to drive to the store).
