I've never kept poultry in an enclosed coop Harvey. My chickens are housed in a 3-sided coop that's raised one foot above ground. The coop was formerly used as donkey shed. I also use 1/2 inch hardware cloth as their flooring but there's plenty of hay on top for them to walk on. I've kept turkeys, guineas and mallards in with my chickens with no problems.

Anna, if you're reading this, I currently have Char-Lee, a pygmy buck, in with my chickens to help "mow down" the plant growth because I can't see my chickens when they're out and about. I've also run my Spanish/Boar crosses, Nubians and Kinders in with the poultry but only when the vegetation is tall. When you first go to add your goats, don't use kids because your rooster(s) will torment and chase them in an aggressive manner. Use older goats who will defend themselves and so your rooster will get used to the goats being in their territory.  My rooster loves my pygmy buck. Rooster and Char-Lee play chase. One minute you'll see Rooster chasing Char-Lee and then the next, Char-Lee is chasing Rooster and then they'll munch and crunch side by side.

Elizabeth
