I think for improving and enhancing pastures in this hot texas climate, I
will probably get alot more positive results just with allowing the goats to
rotate through and maybe chickens if I have a trustworthy dog.
I would think that the mychorrizal fungi from composting/mulching is the
most beneficial thing right? and would compost tea carry that property, most
likely not as it would not maintain by sprays on hot dry areas. Plants need
that to uptake nutrients/minerals? I'm new to composting and I need a LOT of
it. I did not want to rob my forest floor of the leaves so I'd have to rob
someone elses with permission until I can find other sources. I have lots of
goat bedding soiled but right now it is hay they are laying on. It starts to
get moldy? smelling, is that a bad thing for composting. That is while it is
still in the barn floor, maybe the compost pile heat will cure that?
I do have an unlimited supply of dead/decaying wood:) but too much wood is
also contraindicated right? I like to make people sniff the dirt when they
come here to visit. I have such a love of that smell. Doesn't seem to go over
that well:)
