Both New leaf , newleaf plus, and new leaf Y, were supposed to have been taken off the market (2001), I thought after it was shown to be relatively toxic to livestock and lab rats, causing buyers to ask growers to discontinue growing any of the varieties containing its particular modifications. The FDA wasn't aware of any of its properties since they aren't allowed to study food toxicity unless its for marketing purposes, the original studies regarding its toxic side effects came from I think Scotland. http://www.geo-pie.cornell.edu/crops/potato.html If by mosaic virus they are talking cauliflower mosaic, that a piece of information I want to do some scouting on, camv virus is downright deadly to plants as it permanently switches on segments of RNA causing it to create random protein strings when used in combination with interons. To actually resist it one expects the equivalent of an ARM might have been introduced into it which is pretty terrifying. Never heard of Freedomn II, I'll look it up. --- On Thu, 4/23/09, Tradingpost <tradingpost@lobo.net> wrote: From: Tradingpost <tradingpost@lobo.net> |
