Arrogance and power are largely synonyms these days, and most of power is numbers no matter what your anointed political or cultural beliefs. Its all somewhat surreal to watch people react to a self created crisis in the institutional environment without seeing any connection to the real environment. History tells us expedience rules decision making in these times, the very thing that feeds failure particularly where self reliance and sustainability are concerned.

When you go to the city people will tell you money grows on trees which are fertilized by faith in markets and social systems, in the country people will tell you its a good time to put up fences and buy dogs to keep the city people away from nature where they can't mess it up like a city.

Not sure anyone realizes how this will play out, but everyone has a guess. My guess is until people figure out their place in nature or show some willingness to do so, the institutions will continue to erode. What small farmers , permaculturists, and responsible land use advocates have been saying for years about needing a willing and educated relationship with the urban self appointed center still really boils down to the urban center giving up its self-image and delusions. Only then do I expect serious exchange and education to begin. I do know this though, nature won't hold its breath to find out our plans, something to take solace in.

Never happen.. Absolute power is in control and it will not let go.. The only way it will is if it is removed and it has all the weapons.  If we retreat to the high places and set up camps of like minded souls, it will come and destroy us.  As history has shown us. The only recourse we have left is to ride out the storm and hope for a brighter future which will never come. Our lives have dramatically been changed for us, we either submit or we will be punished.  I'm looking forward to the day when men of faith will be asked to give up that faith entirely or be denied any form of assistance, because at that time I believe everything will be fulfilled to usher in a judgement that has been held back.  We are close..

What we need is for the sane people to find the other sane people and
ignore everyone else and do what they can do to survive. Some of the
insane people might realize they are following the wrong people and
switch over. Some will be forced toward less consumption by economics.
Meanwhile, the System of systems will not let go until it fails on its
own. Just like a rabid dog, it needs to be put down to stop it because
everything surrounding the culture of consumption is designed to
reinforce the culture of consumption. There is no 'fix' for it that any
politics can implement now.

IF there is a planet left by the time the CO2 dumping stops.
