On 1/2 acre in CT you can support a family and far more, given proper
methods. My partner Barb grew up at Stamford where the immigrant community
grew a lot of good food in backyards with little labor and no fossil fuel
inputs. Enhance with Coleman's techniques (Four Season book - winter
coverings *inside* the greenhouses) and quadruple production. Add permanent
beds with ideal soil using mulch, organic amendments and remineralization,
and lower labor and costs, and double production over that. We have a ton
of information on these subjects here. Like manure it does no good unless
spread ...
