Subject: [COMFOOD:] Comment period expires Tomorrow, Mon 6/23 on Petition to
FDA to remove MSG from food supply

Hi All,

I just found out about this. The comment period closes tomorrow, Monday,
June 23rd, on this petition to the FDA to remove MSG from the food supply
(by changing it's status so it is no longer listed as an ingredient that is
GRAS = Generally Regarded As Safe). Thanks, Louise.

The FDA has accepted a petition to remove monosodium glutamate from the GRAS
(generally regarded as safe) list of ingredients. This action would stop
hundreds of food manufacturers, from Campbell's to Heinz, and thousands of
restaurants, from Kentucky Fried Chicken to Applebees, from using this
additive.
