It's true that these days those homes in the Davis development are costly. The point is to get developers to build green in sustainable communities to start. In the film it said that the houses had gone up 5 times what they had paid and no one wanted to move. They had no utilities. The developer first put in a swale to collect water then homes on either side. Fruit trees and bike trails are on either side of the swales as well creating a parklike atmosphere. Anna
