And isn't it amazing that SUNLIGHT will kill the coliform bacteria? Pasturing would put the cattle in a more natural environment-- less crowded, more natural behaviour, movement away from dirty areas-- just think-- Nature knew best all along...... And cows really weren't meant o digest concentrated feed grains, anyway....

E. Coli contamination in beef could be reduced something like 80% if the beef were finished in grass (pasture) for at least one week prior to slaughter. I suspect that much of the remaining 20% could be further reduced through better slaughter practices (not the industrial methods).
