Organic dairy farmer Albert Straus, who started testing corn fed
to his 300-head dairy herd more than a year ago, and found about
one-third had been contaminated, now tests every lot of grain he buys.
GMO contamination is widespread now. There are simple kits to test for the more common genetic modifications but few do because there is no government regulation nor consumer clamoring for the tests. Genetic drift and contamination is an ever growing problem, just ask rice growers.
