Here are some inflation stats according to shadowstats.com:
http://www.shadowstats.com/cgi-bin/sgs/data
I suspect that there was a reason why the government stopped reporting on the
M3 money supply, and that is was in anticipation of what we're now all
seeing/feeling now- massive inflation. Inflation comes in two forms: 1)
price inflation due to increased demand (lower supply); and 2) increased
injection of new money into circulation. As the info shows, M3 appears to be
around 16%!
As the population increases, and resources diminish, the best that you can
expect financially is to tread water. The best bet, as we all hear know, is
to aim for self-sufficiency, to grow one's own food. The Fed can crank out
as many funny pieces of paper as it wants, but they'll never replace our
physical realities. And to get a better picture of what's ahead:

Touché, I didn't use the word *killing* either. Actually, I would be more
of a tenement dweller than a slumlord.
Your estimate of the actual inflation rate would *likely* :-) be more
accurate than mine and I would honestly like to know what you think it is.
I do very little news but I think they are saying something like 3 or 4%. I
would guesstimate it at 3 to 4 times that much. However, whether I have
money trading on the Fore or not makes about as much difference to those
downriver as Johnny not eating his peas has on a child starving in Africa.
