I am sure that most of you know that a hoophouse of PVC pipe and a plastic sheet works great, also.
Coleman in ME uses a hoophouse inside a bigger hoophouse.
I tried hoop houses but my primary garden area is subject to some fierce winds, and I got tired of picking up pieces of PVC and ripped plastic and dead plants. When I expand the garden on the other side of the property, where it is much more sheltered, I probably will build a couple of greenhouses. One of the companies that makes the specialized fittings is not far from me, so it's easy to pick up what I need. For now, using hay bales with window panes on top works better than anything else.
