Draft Horse & Horsedrawn Equipment Auction April 20,21,22 Sisters, Oregon

A message from Tilth Producers of Washington:
Dear Members and Friends of Tilth Producers,

Lynn Miller, creator of the Small Farmers Journal and this year's keynote
for the conference called me yesterday and asked me to spread the word of
their upcoming Draft Horse and Equipment Auction April 20, 21 and 22.
Their website is
http://www.smallfarmersjournal.com
and there is the first link to information about their auction.
Specifically, Lynn asked me to let folks know they just got a large
consignment from an old farm equipment business from North Carolina that
is liquidating their inventory of old but never used market farming,
vegetable planting, cultivating and harvesting implements in addition to a
lot of hand tools that will be auctioned off.

April 20,21,22, 2007

Come to this classic event, the biggest of its kind anywhere in the world!
It's horsedrawn wagons, harnesses, sleigh bells, big draft horses and
fancy carriage horses, restored antique farm implements, all for sale at
either auction or privately. It's billed as an auction and swap meet, but
that doesn't go far enough in describing what will happen the third week
in April at the Sisters Oregon Rodeo Grounds.

This is the 29th year for the event, which has evolved into a market
gathering. It's an annual rendezvous for thousands folks who believe in
the idea of working horses and mules in harness. People come to just be a
part of it.

New for 2007 - Horse Drawn Implements
We will be featuring new implements at this year's auction. Consignors are
encouraged to send us on of each of their most popular and/or newest
implements along with handout literature. Those implements will be offered
for sale to the highest bidder during a special set-aside segment of this
year's auction. Advance advertising will be throughout the year and global
in scope. Here is an outstanding opportunity to have thousands of folks,
many from western states, see your tools, get information and possibly
purchase the one you send for display. Call us for information on how you
might piggy-back your shipment.

Horse Drawn Vehicles
On Saturday April 21, under the big top, buyers have an opportunity to bid
on outstanding horsedrawn vehicles coming from all over the US and Canada.
Everything from buggies, sleighs, freight wagons, chuck wagons, farm
wagons, carts, to elegant coaches and commercial carriages (depending on
consignments) and so much more. Thousands of folk come each year and they
plan their vacations around this event. Everyone is invited to attend and
encouraged to join in the fun.

Harness, Collars and Working Horse Tack
This year we are expecting dozens of sets of outstanding new and used
harness for every size and type work horse and mule, plus show harness
gear. There will also be new and used collars of every size, harness
parts, harness oil, and miscellaneous hitch gear.

Draft Horses and Mules
We expect consignments to include Belgians, Percherons, Shires,
Clydesdales, Haflingers, Fjords, crossbred workhorses and Mules. This is
one of the finest gatherings of draft horses. Everything from well-trained
working animals to yearlings with high potential, to working ranch horses.

Horse Drawn Equipment & Miscellaneous Items
No where else in the world will you see a wider selection of new and used,
horsedrawn farm and logging implements for sale privately, or at auction.
Mowers, plows, cultivators, harrows, manure spreaders, forecarts, arches,
seeders, binders, harvest equipment, horseshoeing equipment, and all
manner of hitch gear, totaling more than a thousand items that fill acres.

Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to join in the fun. The
auction is an exciting and humorous circus-like atmosphere with a backdrop
of two hundred or more horsedrawn vehicles which usually includes stage
coaches, buggies, sleighs and covered wagons.

Add in the big swap meet with table after trailer load of antiques,
handmade clothing, farm goods, windmills, blacksmithing, wheelwrighting,
harnessmakers, books, Amish furniture makers, quilts, old tools and toys,
and food. It's a varied & interesting mix. Plus folks can sit and watch
draft horses being exercised and demonstrated prior to the Sunday horse
auction.

The swap meet runs for three full continuous days, Friday-Sunday. The
auction schedule has been organized so that categories of goods are sold
at designated times: equipment Friday, vehicles Saturday, and horses
Sunday. Miscellaneous items are auctioned throughout the weekend.
