Dick Chapin has donated many kits for me to take to other countries to demonstrate to the famers.  They work perfectly for anyone who does not have a pressure water line for irrigation.  They can be ordered from www.echonet.org for $25.

His foundation sales them at cost and by the time shipping is paid, they sell for about US$15 in most countries.   The kits consists of 100 feet of ordinary dripline [flat; not round], to connect the drip line to the bucket.  A hole is cut in the bucket and a fitting is used to connect the lines.  I have stopped taking the kits because the farmers in Honduras and El Salvador came up with two ways to make a dripline out of a locally available black poly tubing.  The water is siphoned out of the bucket [at least 3 ft above the ground for a pressure of 1.5#].  If anyone is interested in the DIY dripline, contact me.  It is probably cheaper in this country to buy the factory made. One thing about the DIY line is that an outlet can be cleaned out if it stops up with trash or hard water deposits which is a problem here in Lubbock.
