This is from GO NOFA (Northeast Organic Farming Assoc.). This nonsense is
really getting out of hand. About as smart as covering your house with
plastic and duct tape and staying indoors forever. And believe it, this has
nothing to do with food security.

New Transport Rules Pending

In a few months, new controls will be placed on food transportation,
including livestock feed. The new regulations are part of the 2002
Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act,
and will take effect in December. The new rules require documentation
from the farmer and transporter of anything they sell, barter, give away
or ship by truck, rail or sea.

The transporter must retain records of the feed source, the
recipient, origin and destination points, the amount and a description
of the feed. Details must be retained for one year in either paper or
electronic format. If the Food and Drug Administration suspects feed or
food has been tampered with, the records must be produced within 24 hours.
