Pat, I haven't seen our red fox family for a couple of years and the rodent population IS exploding here. Its a dirty shame.
BTW, we first met red fox when the neighbors put a tub of Halloween candy on their porch for trick or treat. They had decided to be elsewhere that night. My oldest, then 8, walked up to their porch to find red fox eating the Halloween candy. The neighbors were brand new to the area and did not realize we had bears (back then we did) and foxes.
