Think Blending Not Varietals

Any pomologists (apple experts) among us here?
I would like to ask if anyone can identify, reasonably if not precisely, what kind of apples these might be in the photo. I came across them near Mulmur, Ontario, a few years ago in October. They had pale yellow / white flesh and a really pleasant, spicy/winey taste. There was good sugar/acid balance in the taste, but no tannin. I do remember thinking they would make a good varietal cider. Next to the apples are some wild riverbank (riparia? rupestris?) grapes for size comparison.

Thanks in advance.
