Hi,

Mine are Ischia and LSU (green I think).  I got them from Bert.

I am hoping he is back at his computer after being away for a while.

Later,

Tom

Tom:

Fig size depends on the variety; I have Celeste and Brown Turkey. Brown Turkey is about 2½ times the size of Celeste. When the figs are ripe they will be soft and hang down. Celeste is a blue-grey color when ripe and Brown Turkey is brown when ripe. Size as I'm sure you are aware also depends on sun, water and fertility. I've had Brown Turkey 2" to 3" high. The more sun they get the sooner they will ripen; usually late August to late September. Keep them well watered. If the tree gets stressed for water it will start dropping figs.

Subject: [OFEX] Fig?

Hello All,

How big do figs get?  This is my first real crop.

The bulbous end is about the size of ping-pong ball, with a length from stem to outside end about the length of your thumb.  They are solid dark green in color.

So being a rookie…  What happens next and what is the time frame?

The branches are sagging under the weight of the figs.

Thanks,

Tom
