F.G. has not been thro quarantine- thus not legal in Canada yet.
In reality there are quite a few growers in Ontario who have it- they just don't broadcast it.   :-))

There are large numbers (large as in IMO) of Eona growing in Quebec and Ontario. Several wineries in P.Q. make a varietal from it. A winery owner picked my St Croix last fall and is very happy with the product.

Subject: [OFEX] Frontenac Gris?

Hello All,

Is the Frontenac Gris wine grape in general release yet?  It is supposed to be very winter hardy according to WineMaker magazine, and make a decent wine.  If nothing else I could blend it with currants.

I am looking to replace my St Croix and Eona which make terribly acid wine.  It is the only wine I ever made that I spit out upon tasting.

I am looking for a very hardy, white wine grape because red wine literally gives me a headache.  I cannot finish a single glass without ramifications.

If anyone has local trial information it would appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom
