Hello Bizmark;

I would like to order 200 of the M-111 rootstock. Also, do you know where I could purchase a used but workable grafting appliance? I am just trying to get started with this... I have quite of few unidentified old apple trees on my property...so I want to graph & grow about 10 of each type.

I Live just north of Barrie... so I can arrange to travel to Creemore for pick-up.

Regards
Scott

Hi Bert,

Glad to know about the Scoot - I'll certainly give it a try. When it comes
to bunny recipes, I was hoping for something more in the line of : preheat
over to 375, baste with a mixture of olive oil, salt, Dijon mustard .. ;-)

And,

Thanks for the scions and seeds Tom, they arrived yesterday safe and sound.
I also received a few whips from Salt Spring Island - Harry Burton's
operation. Bill's Red Flesh, Milo Gibson, Crimson Spire (?) and a sport of
Pound Sweet, all are ready to be planted. For anyone out of the city, is
your ground thawed or still frozen? I'd love to plant these babies tomorrow,
but I can't go by the ground in the city which is one and a half zones
warmer.

Re: rootstock - I have succumbed to the urging of a west coast apple buddy
and am now selling rootstock. I have M.26, M.111 and M.9 coming in next
week. I have started really small - so quantities are limited. If anyone
wants some, let me know. I'm charging $2 per piece, plus handling and
shipping. I'm waiving the "handling" charge to our local historical apple
group and will also do the same for the ofex members. Postage will be
charged at cost. If anyone buys a bundle of 50 pieces, the costs drop to $1
a piece since I don't have to break open and then re-package the bundle. For
ofex and Creemore Historical Apple Society - it's essentially just covering
the costs.

I'm off to a fund-raising Ergathon - where each team rows 40 km. I'm down
for 10 km, but you only row for 2 km at a time, then switch to another team
member. This should help to build up my planting muscles.

Cheers, and a great weekend to everyone.

Bizmark.

Best bunny recipe I know is "Scoot". Easy to apply in fall, reasonable in
place, brer rabbit does not like the taste. Cheers Bert

Know any good bunny recipes! ( Those &*^%$)^# rascally rabbits went down
the length of the first trellis wire, and chomped their way through a year's
worth of growth on 95 trees. Just like eating a row of kernels on corn on
the cob! )

Cheers, Bizmark.

Biz,

Hi,

I am curious if my scion selection passes muster? (ie: diameter size and
number of available buds, quality of buds, etc.)

I am anxious to meet up with you and swap the various things we have for
each other.

I will be potting up the apple seedlings you have for me into large pots.
The plan at the farm orchard is to rearrange things, take down the standard
trees, and add more dwarfs, but farmers, like rural Italians move at a
glacial pace. Ha, ha, ha! For some reason spring planting and tractor
repairs take priority. What are they thinking? Ha, ha, ha!

Later,

Tom
