Hi Joe, I did do a lot of that already. I
still run into program screens and pop-up warnings that are designed for the
angels dancing upon the heads of pins to read. Going to buy a bigger monitor to see if
that helps. Later, Tom From:

[mailto:labruscagrape-bounces@lists.ibiblio.org] On Behalf Of joe calico Tom, the standard defaults on Windows XP
do produce smaller fonts. These are just defaults and you can easily
adjust them. I don’t know your computer prowess so here’s a
high level approach to changing the appearance (fonts). If you get lost,
let me know and I will walk you through all the steps in detail. 1. From the ‘start’ button go into “Control
Panel” 2. Once in “Control Panel”, select “Display”
icon 3. Once in “Display”, select the “Settings”
tab (far right on little window). 4. Now, you can begin to change appearance. On the lower left
portion of little screen, there is a section called “Screen
resolution” (in blue). It contains a pointer and just below it will
show you the present setting for the screen display (mine is set at “1024
by 768 pixels”). Note your setting in case you want to go back to
it later. Any way, you can click on the pointer, hold it with the mouse
click and drag the pointer left or right which changes the screen resolution in
steps. I suspect you want to slide it left so it reads something less
than it did when you started (produces bigger fonts). Set it, let’s
say, at “800 by 600 pixels”. Click “Apply”
on the very right bottom of the screen (this is important otherwise nothing
happens). The screen display collapses then re-appears showing you what
the new resolution that you just selected would look like. It asks you “Your desktop has been configured. Do you
want to keep these settings?” If you select
“yes” it changes it or it will remain this way for ever until you
change it again. If you select “no” it reverts back to what
it was before you started this. At this point you can select a different
resolution setting, if you like, by repeating the process. Note: If
you don’t answer “yes” or “no” within 15 seconds
it reverts automatically back to what it was just before you attempted to
change the resolution. Good luck. Joe C -----Original Message----- Hello, Just testing my new computer…. Only have about 100 email addresses
to add to it. Is it me, or does Windows XP have
tiny fonts? Thanks, Tom |
