T,

After sitting behind the computer screen for a dozen years I moved
to woodworking including treehouses and playgrounds and renovation
and repairs and crazy custom artistic and dull fixits....

Not too much online for what you're looking for, but I have noticed that
Hill Country Woodworks is closing down their Chapel Hill Showroom,
and making their workshop once again a showroom.  Their workshop,
btw, is on Old Greensboro Rd, south of Carrboro a few miles from where
it starts off of Jones Ferry Rd.

While I doubt they are getting rid of equipment, they do very fine work,
and are fine people, and may be willing to offer advice on sources of
used equipment.  There are a lot of furniture manufacturers going out
of business or downsizing in our fine state.

Hope this may lead to something for your friend.

@LazyWeb

I have a friend whose hobby is collecting large machines used in manufacturing furniture (he hand crafts furniture as a business - think 30 foot long conference tables).

He lives in Oregon and is jealous that I live in North Carolina due to the proximity to great equipment.

While I realize this is outside the scope of usual topics on this list, I was wondering if anyone knew of some local and/or online resources for furniture machinery in the area (outside of Craigslist, et. al.)
