Title: Web Content Strategist & Analytics Consultant

 

Length of Contract: Four - Twelve Months

 

Job Description

 

The Web Content Strategist & Analytics Consultant will be responsible for working with internal and external resources to ensure the successful migration (including assigning taxonomy tags / meta data classifications) of thousands of Web pages into Talecris Biotherapeutics' recently acquired Web Content Management System (RedDot). In addition, the consultant will help develop Web traffic dashboards with internal business leadership to report Key Performance Indicators (KPI) utilizing Omniture. Concurrently the consultant will also play a role in working with various interactive agencies to ensure the timely completion of numerous projects currently underway.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will be exceptionally passionate about quality, pay meticulous attention to detail and be skilled at juggling multiple, and ever-changing priorities.   The Consultant must have good business and technical acumen. To be successful in this role the Consultant must have good interpersonal skills and be comfortable collaborating with creative, business and technical professionals. The selected candidate for this engagement will have a high level of expertise with technical editing and be exceptionally proficient at leveraging the unique power of the Web to develop and orchestrate compelling communications.

Major Tasks of the Position:

 

  • Ensure all external Web pages are migrated successfully into Talecris' Web Content Management System – utilizing the Talecris Biotherapeutics Web Ontology – so that content can be re-purposed throughout the Web enterprise both implicitly and explicitly.

 

  • Ensure that all Web content complies with corporate, brand, accessibility, usability, search engine optimization, and key international and national
    e-health standards.

 

  • Educate internal and external content developers on Web taxonomy and ensure correct classification and meta tagging of all newly published content

 

  • Orchestrate Web publishing across all external Web sites to ensure timely execution of "e" projects; proactively monitor corporate and brand related editorial calendars and ensure Web publishing is in harmony with off-line promotional activities

 

  • Manage the Web Analytics Solution to support timely reporting of Key Performance Indicators; suggest new content and enhancements using key insights gained through ongoing traffic analyses.

 

  • Identify appropriate third party certifications for Web site quality   and achieve certification from those agencies (ie HON, eTrust, etc)

 

  • Develop a plan to develop an effective Web Content Committee –to advocate the enthusiastic adoption and utilization of the WCMS throughout the organization

 

Work Interactions:

 

  • Talecris corporate communications and brand leadership, and information

systems' liaisons (Global: US, Canada, Europe)

 

  • Internal legal, medical and regulatory (LMR) experts

 

  • External partners including advertising, public relations and interactive agencies

 

Education, Skills and Experience:

Education:

           

  • MA/ MS in Communication, English, Instructional Design or Library Sciences, with 5+ years of proven experience and accomplishment or,

 

  • BA / BS in Communications, English or Instructional Design with 10+ years of proven experience and accomplishment

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience managing large Web sites through the content development life cycle utilizing an Enterprise Web Content Management System; evolving a complex taxonomy within the Life Sciences industry preferred / Fortune 1000 Corporation / or other nationally recognized health care organization
  • Utilization of a Web traffic analysis solution to report results and make content development recommendations on an ongoing basis
  • Significant experience managing/ editing/ overseeing content development; a background in writing, editing, and publishing is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Instructional design knowledge and experience
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Organized and excellent project management skills
  • Critical thinker, with strong planning and decision making ability
  • Self-directed team player
  • Familiarity with usability, accessibility, and emerging Web standards and technologies
