I don't know any local places but we have a need here at work to send drives out periodically and usually it's when there's data that is clearly identified as being worth more than the $500-3K fees we often see to have the work done.

Hey,

I have a MacBook that is no longer under warranty, and as luck would have it, the hard drive crashed.  It's definitely a mechanical failure as opposed to software or logical failure, and as such, software rescue is highly unlikely.

Does anyone know of a local resource that can recover data from a failed drive?
