CoolEdit Pro is no longer sold. The company, Syntrillium, was bought out by
Adobe in 2003; they renamed the product Adobe Audition. A few more details
are here: http://htyp.org/CoolEdit_Pro
All that aside, it sounded to me like Susan wasn't wanting to spend $300 to
do
this. Audacity should do the trick, but it seems to me that there is software
specifically designed for playing audio files "DJ-style", faded into and out
of each other... although I don't know of any specifically. For those with
Linux, a search of the standard repositories is likely to come up with a
handful of candidates (all Free, of course), but for Windows I wouldn't
really know where to start. Maybe a plug-in for WinAmp or MatchMusic Jukebox
or something?
