templates are *why* you want to use dreamweaver. most web sites have common header, footer and sidebar. chunk 'em in a template and updates to all pages are quick and easy. i don't think my ancient version 4 of dreamweaver uses any microsoft proprietary html that screws up the code.

FrontPage is a tool. A tool that produces non-standard code. This code isn't
"real" code, and anyone using a "real" browser (like Firefox) will have
difficulty seeing your site the way you do using Internet Explorer.

Dreamweaver is just another tool. A tool that produces better, almost
standard code.

I almost blasted you, but instead I did a quick check and I see that
since 2004 Dreamweaver no longer uses MSHTML. It's still expensive,
though. As long as her needs aren't too intricate and she's not stuck
supporting a bunch of templates, I'd recommend Nvu, which is free.
