If you install direct to the hard drive it works well and had a network
connection. From vmware use the platform=x86pc option at boot and it will
double the performance.

Subject: [internetworkers] Mac OS X in VMware

After seeing some articles on Slashdot about it, I decided to check it out
for myself. I found the VMware image (1.2 GB) on the web and downloaded it
with Bittorrent. It was basically as simple as untarring the files and
opening it in VMware.

First thing I noticed is that it was really slow (I have a 1.8 GHz Pentuim 4,
512 MB), which is probably because VMware hasn't been tuned to run Mac OS.
Also Mac OS doesn't recognize the network "card" that VMware uses internally.
So after playing with it a little, I decided to wait until it works a little
better.
