Christopher Toumey, formerly of the UNC department of Anthropology wrote a great book on the creationist movement; "God's Own Scientists". SJG gave it two panda's thumbs up.

As the review points out, it's a little dated; some of the less successful tropes of the creationist movement have been discarded, and new arguments tried in their place, but that doesn't....hey....wait a minute...

It's available online through NetLibrary from most University campuses; it's also still in print.
