The next meeting of the North Carolina System Administrators will be
Monday, April 11, 2005 at 7pm in the Dreyfus Auditorium at RTI
International. For info on how to get to this meeting, visit
http://www.ncsysadmin.org/directions .

Topic: Packet mangling with iptables and netfilter
Speaker: Lisa Lorenzin, Juniper Networks

Abstract: Iptables and netfilter are features of the Linux kernel
(2.4 and beyond) that provide packet manipulation capabilities such as
stateful firewalling and address translation. If you've ever wanted to
build a simple stateful firewall, or hide multiple machines behind a
single IP address, these are the tools for you - and they're
remarkably simple to use.

Bio: Lisa Lorenzin has been working in the information security field
for eight years and is currently a Senior Systems Engineer for Juniper
Networks, a leading developer of ASIC-based Internet security systems
and appliances. She spends entirely too much time playing with
firewalls.

Doors open at 6:30pm and this meeting is expected to end by 9:00pm.
