Well, I would lament the loss of such a founding figure in the Triangle tech scene, but it sounds like the changes being made are highly beneficial to you and your family. Thus, what am I complaining about?

Thomas - we will all miss you! (Even those who may not know how influential you have been). And we will always be here in the 'angle ready to buy you a drink or a latte or just sit and talk.

I hope the transition goes well for you and congrats to Deborah on finding new employment! We hope to see you/hear from you soon.

Dear INW Friends -

A few things are changing for Deborah and me this month. Deborah has
accepted a position as the Website manager for Asheville-Buncombe
Technical Community College. She starts that work in mid-February, so
we will be moving our household out to Hendersonville in a few weeks.

I have had some good luck in getting some new clients for my
recently-revived law practice both in the Triangle and in Hendersonville
and Asheville. I will continue to be "based" in both areas for the
foreseeable future. My home will be in Hendersonville but my office is
wherever I (and my laptop) happen to be. I do plan to be in the
Triangle for a couple of days every three or four weeks. With any luck
one of those days will be the first Thursday of every month.

This is largely a family move for us. In recent years my parents and
siblings have converged in Hendersonville, where my grandmother has
lived for the last 30 years or so. I am also pursuing a business
venture making hard apple cider and apple brandy. That's where the
apples are.

I'll remain on the list and remain a part of the community. My friends
here mean a lot to me and I wouldn't give them up for the world.

See you 'round the 'angle!
