I was just catching up on our debate on the presidential debates. At
the same time, I have been intermittently reading the recent article by
James Fallows in the Atlantic Monthly in which he analyzes Bush's and
Kerry's debating skill and experience. His view is reasonably
nonpartisan. He finds Bush to have been quite capable in all of his
prior political debates. One very interesting point is his discussion
of the dramatic change in Bush's rhetorical style since he first ran for
Governor of Texas. Kerry's proficiency is more obvious but is also an
interesting history.

Worthwhile reading regardless of your political stripe.
