That was definitely the best speech I've heard from either party so far in this campaign. I was watching CSPAN, and I didn't realize that other networks skipped it. Amazing. You could be forgiven for cutting away from the senator from Iowa's wife for some commentary, and I'm probably not the only one who got up for milk and cookies during Gephardt's speech, but Barack Obama's was supposed to be the keynote speech, and there was a reason the Dems picked him over better-known politicians within their party.
If you were watching the latest Kobe/Lacy/Michael/Martha update on CNN, or in-depth coverage of the Bunny-Suit or Shove-It "scandals" on Fox, then you missed a pretty good speech. I guess CNN, FNC, MSNBC and CBS were too busy /being/ the news and couldn't be bothered to actually /cover/ the news.
