Community Technology Awards Call for Nominations
Chapel Hill, NC - January 19,2004 - RTPnet, a Triangle area community
network, today opened nominations for Community Technology Awards. The
RTPnet Community Technology Awards recognize and honor individuals,
organizations, institutions, and businesses that have made significant
contributions to North Carolina communities in the area of information and
computer technology.
"RTPnet is pleased to announce community technology awards," said Judy
Hallman, executive director, RTPnet. "Efforts to bridge North Carolina's
digital divide abound - neighbors help neighbors, organizations help
individuals and other organizations, institutions and businesses support
local communities in their use of computers and information technology in
a variety of ways. Help us find and honor the unsung heroes."
Nominations for the 2004 RTPnet Community Technology Awards will be
accepted through February 23, 2004.
Nominees will be honored and winners will be announced at the RTPnet
Community Technology Awards Reception which will be held as part of
RTPnet's 5th Annual Conference: Bridging North Carolina's Digital/Human
Divide, March 19, 2004, 5:00-6:00 PM, at The William and Ida Friday Center
for Continuing Education in Chapel Hill.
