This week I came across a couple of new "listener supported" and commercial free radio stations. There's been plenty of for profit internet-based sites with multiple "stations" and proprietary players, but most of those have gone away. (Spinner was recently purchased by AOL, for example.)
Radioio www.radioio.com has the traditional mix of genres, including acoustic, ambient, beat, classical, jazz, etc. The streams are just MP3, and the more you pay the more bandwidth you get. The 64kbit stream is available for free via iTunes, which is nice since it looks like normally have to pay.
The other site is SomaFM, http://somafm.com/, which seems to be the same concept, except with more of a "DJ" emphasis and less commercial.
Its nice to see a couple more stations go up that aren't Windows only.
