I thought of this idea while out, er, drinking this summer, and wouldn't you know it, here's a company just starting up in Nov:

http://www.mylastemail.com

"The fact is, we may not be given the chance to say goodbye, thank you or I love you – which can be devastating to your family. Mylastemail.com gives you the chance to prepare your farewells in advance. The letters you prepare here are personal, private ‘last’ email messages that will be sent to your family and friends one day – but only after you die."

If you put up a large switch in a cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying "End-
of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH", the paint wouldn't even have time
to dry. -- Pratchett
