CNN.com reports: "Internet littered with abandoned sites". Apparently some people build sites and then just leave them there, cluttering up the Internet.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/11/03/deadwood.online.ap/index.html

"Despite the Internet's ability to deliver information quickly and frequently, the World Wide Web is littered with deadwood -- sites abandoned and woefully out of date."

Some sites remain frozen in time!

Since we are a civic-minded Internet group, I propose that some weekend soon we organize an "Adopt an Information Highway" squad and go pick up some of this litter. If we can keep our own little corner of the Net clean and tidy, perhaps others will follow suit. The world will be a happier, neater place. Who's with me?
