If she's using Windows, she can use Ad-aware
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) or Spybot Search &
Destroy (security.kolla.de/) to find and remove adware and spyware on
her computer. If she's using Windows 2000 or XP, she should also disable
the Messenger Service, which will also prevent certain types of pop-ups
from appearing.
