they are really easy to grow, and do nicely in this climate. favas are traditionally more of a springtime thing, but i wouldn't expect any problems planting them now. they grow these nice, tough, vertical stalks that need only minimal, if any, support. they're quite productive and if you get too many, just let them dry on the stalk and you'll have your seed for next year.
