Thanks Carol! That's very good to know! Any other traumatizing experiences
out there?

We remodeled our kitchen about 2 yrs ago, and we used Lowe's, the new
one on north Roxboro rd in Durham. Wilma was our contact person. We had
a pretty good experience, not many "surprises" and what we feel was a
competent work crew. We arranged our own plumber and electrician,
though, plus we had spent some time on measuring and playing with layout
before we met with them the first time. (I cn't recommend that
enough!!) We couldn't afford a custom cabinet or kitchen shop, but
Lowe's had a fairly good selection of middle range cabinets and
countertops, plus appliances at reasonable prices. I would have loved
to have "environmentally friendly" cabinets and flooring with no plywood
or plastics to outgas, but I would have had to auction a kidney on ebay
to pay for it, so this was a good compromise.

I could use some recommendations too. We want to redo our kitchen
(floor and
walls)... does anybody have good/bad experiences with that? Does
HomeDepot,
or Lowes, do a good job, or should we look for a kitchen specialist?

Thanks a bunch,

M

Anyone got a favorite roofer in the Raleigh area? Any bad experiences?
