My point is that if you look at the site, it's almost two-thirds
javascript. That he doesn't care about validation is why his site
contains nested anchors, for example. It's /broken/. And he has not only
abandoned one mechanism that might have helped him not have broken
markup, but mocked it publicly in an interview.

<shrug> As for the site, it's a pretty simple header/three-col/ footer
design. Nothing terribly complex. But maybe all the useless drop shadows
make it more complex than it need be. I dunno.

I suppose. It's just a shame he's done it in such a way that downplays
the fundamental importance of syntax (and been vocal in the process).

Howdy,

I'd be interested in hearing Internetworker's recommendations for low end
web site authoring tools. I need a tool for authoring my personal web site.
There will be no dynamic content from a server perspective. But I'd
appreciate a tool that can do things like keep track of a bunch of movie
reviews that I have written and generate static navigation tools to index
them, etc.

I used to use Front Page but I recently got rid of it because a) I didn't
quite have a valid license for it :-) b) I thought it sucked and c) I'm
striving to be an MS-Free zone.

Anyone got any recommendations.
