Folks,
NC Biotech (www.ncbiotech.org) is looking for a good writer who may or may not know HTML to work on the content for my four Web sites in addition to helping out the corporate communications department. They emphasize that the position is a writing, not a technical, one. They prefer someone with some experience, but are willing to accept good college internships/paper experience in lieu of two years.
The Center has great benefits (second only to the Burroughs Wellcome Fund!), including loads of time off, full insurance for employees, a big pension contribution, your own office, and a great location in RTP.
The official job description and information on where to send your resume are below:
Web Content Specialist

The North Carolina Biotechnology Center is seeking a Web-savvy communicator to create, improve and maintain content for our four Web sites. Work involves gathering information about Center and biotechnology community activities, writing it for publication and packaging it for the Web. Other corporate communications activities, including gathering, writing and editing news and other content for printed publications, attending trade shows and maintaining our industry database, comprise a significant portion of this job.
Ideally, this position will be filled by a strong writer with an ability to learn HTML. You will work with coding, databases and Web sites daily, so you must be comfortable with technology. Any prior experience with HTML/XHTML, CSS, Fireworks, image editing, JavaScript, database-driven content or Cold Fusion is a plus.
We re looking for a self-motivated person to dive in and take ownership of site content. This position also requires an ability to work in teams, maintain a good relationship with Center staff, and interact with members of the state s biotechnology community.
The minimum requirements are two years of experience in a journalism, communications or marketing position that demonstrates an ability to write and edit; literacy in database programs and Web navigation; demonstrated exposure to HTML coding, including maintenance of simple Web site; four-year degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
