I used Down Under Scuba in Raleigh/Cary to get certified. It's not as
big as water world, but does the job. It will depend on your location,
I guess.

I recommend water world in Durham. There are also some great shops in
Raleigh.

As far as DAN goes, I don't know if what is alleged is true, but I owe
my life to DAN - so I really hope it isn't. But whatever the truth may
be, that they recover from it and continue serving the dive community.
