I can tell you this if all you want to do is get it inspected. Disconnect
your negative battery terminal for 1 minute and it should clear the check
engine light. Most OBD (used in cars from like 1992 to 1996) or OBDII
computers (used in cars made since 1996) will clear any codes when power is
removed. And it generally takes driving 30 miles or more to have it come
back on unless something is really wrong with your car.
