P.S. I especially don't endorse the last 3-4 frames.

There's a lot of information and misinformation out there. Here's another point of view.

Note: this is some kind of wierd powerpoint thing that only works in IE. Apologies to those in MS-free environments. Oh, and don't view this if you've eaten recently.
TaB
P.S. I'm not endorsing the site, I don't know much about it. But the PPT presentation is quite compelling.

since the last discussion of the middle east went so well, i figured folks are
just dying to continue that thread...
a certain URL popped up in the strangest of places today. the URL is
http://islamexposed.com/ and it appeared on an intrusion detection list in
australia (ids AT uow.edu.au). of course, this post had nothing to do with
intrusion detection and little to do with technology. but it *is* on the
internet and since this group has "internet" in the name...
the site explains what "being holy" is all about. i wish there was a bit more
proofreading and QA on the site, so it could reach a larger audience and perhaps
be taken a bit more seriously. however, i imagine the author is doing the best
he or she can.
there actually is a reason for attaching the image. from the beginning of this
fracas, what we have heard about is "islams failure to embrace modernity." and
from the beginning, i have argued that these people have already embraced
modernity. framing it in this way is merely an excuse for rationalizing ones
insane belief system. or excusing people from their own societal obligations.
the picture came from:
http://islamexposed.com/Pictures/face-of-Islam.htm
and is a perfect example of how delighted these folks are to wear a Nike t-shirt
while idolizing hatred and murder.
believe me, this is a very toned down version of something i wrote over six
months ago. the most basic ideas revolve around the sorry truth of the situation
- the people who have the means to effect change in their own society would
rather spend their money to destroy and revile another culture.
another culture that they secretly feed off of, yet publicly decry.
how is that satellite tv?? are all 400 channels "muslim-approved?" you're not
watching any "Friends" re-runs back there, are you Ahmad??
enjoying good medical care? ya know, like, in a HOSPITAL? with, like, MACHINES
and ELECTRICITY? (well, i bet the women don't have access to it).
is the Benz driving alright? or does it need a tune-up? you can drive the Rolls
while it is in the shop.
are your investments in US real estate paying off? how about your avid use of
our educational facilities? are they treating you well on campus? got a good
parking spot?
and last but not least - SEX. that most reviled and disgusting of acts. one that
should not exist, let alone be made public. are you enjoying Thee Dollhouse
visits and the occasional whore? you certainly don't want any records kept of
those excursions for fear that you will be stoned when you get home.
yeah, the united states is a sh*tbox. we really are causing the downfall of the
world. i just wish those who were so against it had the backbone to abstain.
as not to be unfairly slanted against islam, there is also a link to:
http://christianityexposed.com/
now, we can go back to discussing SUV's and "where to find the best Chinese
grocer" -or- we can try to discuss something important. i'm sure someone will
want to pick apart my argument. at least an attempt at that would be more
palatable than telling me this is a technology list.
thanks for reading.
