Usually I just ask if they keep a "Do Not Call" list, ask that my name
be added to it, thank them and hang up.
Occasionally, though, when I'm feeling feisty and I know it's a
telemarketer (which is easy... they *always* pronounce my name wrong), the
conversation runs like this:
Telemarketer: Is Geeena Norman there?
Me: I'm sorry, she's dead.
Not particularly nice, maybe? But it makes me feel a little better if I'm
cranky. (pathetic, I know)

My brain seems to have a circuit-breaker-like mechanism that, when I get
confused and befuddled by the overwhelming monstrosities of my life,
causes a default to the simplest and most pleasant of thoughts. Like
Marshmallow Peeps. I *like* Marshmallow Peeps.
