ideas wrt thing #2:

-uplink to moonbase
-kiddie pool
-basis for deflector dish experimentation
-snow saucer sized for 12 adults
-mirrored for ITW cookout solar oven
-one half of much needed Flying Saucer promotional art -- "take that Mellow Mushroom!"
