Last year I attended a talk by the president of a national market research
organization, and he gave figures for radio listenership that placed WUNC
closer to tenth place and didn't even list the other public stations. The
other stats showed that radio advertising and web advertising were costly and
ineffective compared to newspaper advertising. This didn't make sense to me
until I found out he worked for the N&O. You'd think the president of a
national organzation dedicated to "research" would at least make an attempt
at impartiality.
