Subject: [internetworkers] RE: pine pollen

Well, I'll let you in on a little dark secret of the Chapel Hill area that
also afflicts the rest of the Triangle, to the best of my knowledge. You
see, there is a large cult in the Triangle area which only really worships
when they feel that their deity is angry. The hurricanes (and really bad
ice storms, wind storms, anything that knocks out power) are caused by
this deity, and the cult members flock to the stores in droves to make
sure that they have all the necessary ingredients to the ritual.

Bread, eggs and milk. What uses bread, eggs and milk? Why, french toast
of course. Yes, it's true. The dark (or lightly browned) god of french
toast often becomes displeased with the Atlantic coast in the autumn, and
sends his hurricanes as a sign of his wrath. The faithful make french
toast, and all is well... for a while.

Jason "All hail our lightly browned lord french toast" Gloege, tongue
firmly planted in cheek
