Okay, so this pine thread thing is decidedly non-work related.
I'll offer up another observation.

The winding road to the employee parking lot at OUP is lined with pine trees.
When we built the facility here 11 years ago, they were just little trees -
now they are quite tall. Every spring when the pine pollen season hits they
get new shoots. Whatever the variety of pine that is planted - I don't know,
maybe Linda would know - has these shoots that come from the center of a
cluster of branches and point straight up. All that goes through my mine as
I come into work, go to lunch or go home, is that the pine trees are giving
me the finger. It's a disturbing season when the pines are in bloom.
